Now imagine how stressful it must be for over 39% of single moms with two children living in poverty. Single mothers often spend  half their income going towards rent and a third (1/3) going towards childcare. This leaves very little money for Educational Expenses.

EMPOWERING WOMEN AND FAMILIES

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world"

-Nelson Mandela

Did you know that...

-  2/3 of students not reading by 4th grade wind up in prison or on welfare

-  70% of American Inmates read under 4th grade level

Until the cycle of low literacy is broken, the cycle of poverty will remain unbroken.

Bridge Literacy Now is collaborating with other organizations to close the gap between poverty and literacy. We will donate books, provide goal setting techniques and time management seminars to sponsoring organizations to elevate women. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for both mom and their children to improve reading skills for children by the 4th grade to reduce the cradle to prison pipeline. Thereby saving taxpayers on average $44,000 per year for every child prevented from entering the criminal system.

I'm sure you’ve heard the phrase

“If momma ain’t happy no one is happy!”
